Frequently Asked Questions

Where will sessions be conducted?

Most sessions are conducted remotely using a secure video telehealth platform. This means you can access therapy from the comfort of your own home. Research has proven online therapy to be as effective as in-person therapy. You can learn more about it here.

There is some limited availability for in-person appointments in Decatur, GA. You can find out more about in-person appointments here.

Are you licensed to provide online therapy in my state?

I am a licensed psychologist who can provide online therapy throughout the state of Georgia. I also have Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) through PSYPACT, which covers the following states:

Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Connecticut, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

How much does therapy cost?

The rate for individual therapy is $195 per 50-55 minute session. We will start the therapy process with a 60-minute initial intake which costs $250.

What is your availability?

My schedule for appointments is from 9 am to 3 pm, Monday through Wednesday and Fridays (please note that this schedule may see minor adjustments in the future).

I don't offer evening or weekend appointment slots at the moment.

What’s the process for starting therapy?

The first step is to schedule a brief 15-minute phone consultation to see if I may be a good fit for what you’re looking for in therapy. To schedule the consultation, you can contact me by phone, email, or completing the contact form here.

After the phone consultation, we will move on with an initial 60-minute intake before scheduling regular weekly sessions.

What is the frequency and duration of the sessions?

I offer weekly individual therapy sessions. Most therapy sessions are 50-55 minutes but can be longer or shorter depending on specific circumstances. This will be discussed in greater depth when deciding on a treatment plan.

How long does therapy take?

The length of therapy depends greatly on the client’s goals for therapy, engagement in at-home assignments, stressors that may come up over the course of therapy, and several other factors.

However, because I take a skills-based approach to therapy, a typical course of therapy lasts months, rather than years.

Can I use my health insurance?

Yes. I am in-network with Aetna and UnitedHealthcare for clients who are in Georgia. For clients who are out-of-network and wish to use their out-of-network benefits for therapy, monthly “superbills” will be provided that can be submitted to your insurance company.

To find out your out-of-network benefits, I recommend using this free online benefits calculator.

What is the cancellation policy?

Appointments canceled or rescheduled within 24 hours are charged the full session fee.
